The Maaco Story
In 1972, Tony Martino opened the first Maaco Center in Wilmington, Delaware. Over the next decade, Maaco continued to grow, punctuated by the now iconic “Uh oh, Better Get Maaco” tagline. At the turn of the century, Maaco would announce it had painted 10 million cars since its inception.
In 2008, Maaco would join the Driven Brands family. Seven years later, Roark Capital Group acquired Driven Brands, which has only propelled Maaco and its other brands to new heights. That same year, Maaco would celebrate its 20 millionth serviced car. Today, Driven Brands is a publicly traded company.
